Role Overview
We're recruiting a
Dual Engineer
to install, maintain and service both
fire protection systems
and
security systems
. This hybrid position is perfect for a skilled engineer who thrives in a varied technical environment and enjoys solving challenges on site. You'll work closely with customers, internal teams, and compliance standards to ensure safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out
installation, commissioning, maintenance and repairs
on fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, fire suppression systems, CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and related equipment.
Conduct
routine service visits
and system checks in accordance with industry standards and schedules.
Respond to
reactive service calls
and diagnose faults efficiently.
Complete
accurate and professional documentation
including service reports, certification, timesheets and compliance records.
Ensure all work meets relevant
British and European standards
(e.g., BS 5839, BS 5266, BS EN 50131).
Build strong customer relationships through high-quality service and professional communication.
Maintain
company vehicles, tools and stock
responsibly.
Support sales and project teams with technical input when required.
What You'll Bring
Proven experience working with
fire safety systems AND security systems
(installation/service).
Relevant qualifications such as:
Fire industry qualifications (e.g., FPAS, FIA certifications)
Security/NACOSS/SSAIB or equivalent for security systems
18th Edition (or current equivalent) desirable
Strong electrical, mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
Excellent communication and customer-focused mindset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
CSCS card and IPAF/Working at Height training desirable but not essential.
