Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and equipment safely and efficiently across various locations. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle specialised machinery such as excavators. The Driver will play a vital part in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high safety standards.

Responsibilities

Safely operate commercial vehicles, including lorries and specialised machinery such as excavators, in accordance with traffic laws and company policies Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries and pickups Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring items are secured properly during transit Maintain accurate records of journeys, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance Follow health and safety procedures at all times to minimise risks on the road and at loading sites Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules or any issues encountered during transit

Experience

Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably within a logistics or construction environment Mechanical knowledge of vehicles and machinery such as excavators is highly desirable Valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or relevant machinery Experience in operating excavators or similar equipment is advantageous but not essential Familiarity with route planning software and GPS devices is beneficial
