n-compass provides health and social care services across the North of England. We support over 30,000 adults and young people to stay well each year. Duty Advocates are often the first point of contact for individuals and professionals wishing to refer people into our advocacy services. T

he purpose of the advocacy role is to make sure that the wishes views and rights of an individual are taken into account by professionals. The role is very rewarding and offers the opportunity to learn new skills and knowledge everyday, work with great people and help vulnerable





N-compass is looking for a Duty Advocate to be the first point of contact for our Advocacy Services offering timely, person-centred support to individuals navigating complex health and social care systems.


Our Duty Advocate team have a vacancy for a Duty Advocate who will benefit from joining a busy and dynamic team in a truly hybrid working environment.


As a key member of our Single Point of Contact team, you'll triage incoming referrals and enquiries, provide one-off advocacy sessions, signpost to appropriate services, and ensure people get the support they need quickly and compassionately.



Responsibilities:



Handling incoming calls, emails, and online chats with care and clarity Triaging referrals against eligibility criteria and processing them within set timeframes Delivering one-off advocacy sessions and signposting individuals to other support where needed Recognising and escalating safeguarding concerns in line with policy Accurately recording case details and monitoring data using our Case Management System Creating accessible self-help resources and promoting advocacy services to professionals Supporting the induction, supervision, and development of students and volunteers Staying informed on best practice and changes in relevant legislation


What we are looking for:



Excellent telephone and written communication skills Ability to listen, assess needs, and respond sensitively and professionally Organised, efficient, and confident using digital systems A passion for rights-based, person-centred advocacy Previous advocacy, helpline or triage experience is a big plus


This role is ideal for someone who thrives behind the scenes, making a real difference through timely, remote support.
