The CCTV Operator, functioning as a Duty Controller, is responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, ensuring the safety and security of premises, and effectively managing incidents in real-time. The role requires proactive surveillance, quick decision-making, and clear communication with security teams and law enforcement when necessary.
Duties / Responsibilities
:
- Continuously monitor CCTV feeds to ensure the safety of the facility and its occupants.
- Identify, assess, and respond to suspicious activities or incidents in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and interactions for reporting purposes.
- Communicate promptly with security personnel and law enforcement as required.
- Conduct routine checks on all surveillance equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Coordinate emergency response plans and assist in crisis management situations.
- Train and support junior staff in operational procedures and equipment handling.
- Collaborate with facility management to improve security protocols and enhance overall safety measures.
- Participate in regular security audits and drills to ensure preparedness for various emergency scenarios.
- Provide detailed reports and feedback to management regarding security incidents.
- Ensure compliance with all local laws, regulations, and company policies related to safety and security practices.
- Act as a liaison between security personnel, employees, and guests to foster a culture of safety and awareness.
Education / Qualifications
:
- CCTV (PPS) Licence(Essential)
- Doors Supervisor Licence Level 2 (Desired)
- Knowledge of basic security procedures and protocols
- Familiarity with surveillance systems and other security equipment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Driving Licence and own transport preferred due to the centre's location, public transport is limited.
Skills / Knowledge Required
:
- Proficient in the operation and management of CCTV surveillance systems.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail to identify potential security threats.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively relay information and coordinate with teams.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
- Familiarity with security protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Basic computer skills for equipment management and reporting tasks.
