Darwin's Gin Bar is located within the popular and vibrant St Leonards area of Exeter. The aspiration is for the bar to become a key social hub, ethical in approach, contributing to the wider local community and in keeping with the atmosphere of the street. Good quality drinks and service within a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by good, simple food and snacks from locally sourced produce to provide an unpretentious but memorable social experience. This is a new venture offering up an exciting and challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to make their own mark in developing the business. The Duty Manager role is guaranteed to be challenging and rewarding each and every day, a critical role, for a critical thinker, but someone who is committed to work collaboratively and is a team player - this is a must.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures

- Ensure that all guests receive exceptional service and have a positive experience
- Train and supervise bar staff, including bartenders and servers
- Create and maintain a cocktail menu, ensuring a variety of options for guests
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
- Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in bartending or managing a bar is essential
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Knowledge of mixology and cocktail preparation techniques
- Familiarity with food production and culinary techniques is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts as they arise
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and practices

Pay: 14.43-16.43 per hour
