Overview
Milton Keynes Dons Community Trust is recruiting a
Duty Manager
to oversee the day-to-day running of the
Woughton on the Green Sports Pavilion
, supporting high-quality community sport and wellbeing activities.
You'll be the on-site lead during your shifts--managing cafe operations, customer service, facilities access, equipment and housekeeping, opening/closing procedures, and compliance checks. The role is multi-site and will involve working across our facilities to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Site Management
Open and close centres in line with checklist procedures; ensure all booked areas are accessible and ready for use.
Complete daily/weekly/monthly/annual checks for cleaning, catering and maintenance.
Ensure building systems are functioning (e.g. heating, toilets, showers).
Customer Experience
Provide excellent front-of-house service--welcoming users, answering enquiries, and supporting facility bookings.
Monitor usage to ensure equipment is used safely and returned; rooms are left clean and tidy.
Address immediate issues from hirers and maintain a positive customer journey throughout.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Report, log and escalate building issues, user incidents and H&S concerns to the Facilities Operations Lead.
Support compliance with health & safety, fire safety and statutory requirements.
Complete daily logs and ensure sites are always safe for customers and colleagues.
Cafe Duties (Training Provided)
Deliver cafe service during shifts, including stock checks, customer service and basic preparation.
Report stock levels for replenishable items.
Housekeeping & Presentation
Maintain clean and presentable public areas (e.g. entrance hallways), including sweeping/hoovering during shifts.
Collect rubbish left by users and ensure spaces are ready for the next booking.
Complete routine tasks such as litter picking, leaf collection, and goalpost/fence safety checks as per maintenance schedules.
Security & Close-Down
Use on-site systems (alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, height barriers where fitted) to secure the premises.
Confirm all users have vacated; check changing rooms; switch off lights/heating/water as appropriate; lock and alarm the building.
Administration & Finance
Take payments for bookings, refreshments and equipment hire with accurate reporting.
Maintain attendance records, budget sheets, rotas and timetables; collate usage data.
Support transition to a new booking system (which will reduce manual inputs).
Communication & Stakeholder Support
Direct walk-in enquiries to the appropriate website/forms for follow-up by the Facilities Operations Lead.
Provide feedback and ideas to the Facility Manager to continually improve the experience for users and stakeholders.
