We do things well and keep developing.
We're looking for a Duty Manager to join the Teignbridge Leisure team.
In this role, you'll play a key part in the smooth running of our leisure centres. Your day could start with opening the building and getting everything set up, checking facilities, and ordering supplies to ensure our customers have the best possible experience. As the centre gets busier, you'll keep everything moving - supporting customers, guiding your team, and making sure daily operations run safely and efficiently.
We're seeking someone with previous management or supervisory experience, a solid understanding of Health & Safety and Safeguarding, and up-to-date First Aid at Work and Pool Lifeguard qualifications.
If you're proactive, people-focused and ready to help create a welcoming, well-run leisure environment, we'd love to hear from you.
We're better together.
You will enjoy working together as part of a team to deliver on our vision of making Teignbridge a healthy and desirable place where people want to live, work and visit.
We are an equal opportunities employer committed to a diverse and inclusive organisation. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of their age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, caring responsibilities, and socio-economic status. We also welcome applications from military veterans and their families.
We can offer:
Local Government Pension Scheme.
Generous annual leave and wellbeing package.
Discounted membership at Teignbridge District Council Leisure Centres.
Cycle to Work Scheme.
Opportunities for career, self-development and cross-centre working.
Free parking.
24/7 employee discount access and employee assistance support.
To be successful in this role, you will:
Have previous supervisory or management experience.
Have an understanding of the health and fitness (leisure) agenda.
Be a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
You like helping people and supporting your team members.
Be patient, level-headed and calm under pressure.
You will ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Be proactive and able to identify day-to-day problems and resolve them as appropriate.
It is vital to read the job description and person specification for this role - it will help you understand whether your knowledge, skills and experience match the job requirements. In your supporting statement please tell us how you meet each of the essential criteria we ask for in the person specification.
