Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to become our new Duty Manager at one of our conference venues in Oxford OX1 3R..


This is a permanent position, working on a 5 out of 7-day rota between the hours of 6:00 AM and midnight. The core contract is for 40 hours per week; however, as a Duty Manager, flexibility will be required to accommodate events and business needs. Any additional hours worked will be compensated with time off in lieu (TOIL).

We are looking for someone with experience in Hospitality Management that can inspire and motivate their team yet retain a hands-on approach to the operations. You will head up the team and build on successes to deliver the highest standards of food and customer service across the site.


The role requires someone who is commercially minded with the ability to demonstrate a track record of developing efficient and cost effective processes and that you have first class communication skills and a keen eye for detail.


Responsibilities:




Ensure that all hospitality services are delivered to the highest standards Managing a team of 12 Will be very hands on. Overseeing the day to day operation Ensure that all customer requirements are delivered Staff development including training and motivating staff Manage labour budget Must have a love for great food and service Excellent people management and communication skills Proven experience in managing successful teams Experience in a similar role Be able to create bespoke Hospitality offers Have Chef background and or great food knowledge Excellent organisational skill Very flexible in regard to working hours Experience of leading and managing teams to deliver results Able to work in a pressurised environment and be able to multi- task Understanding of P&L accounts
