Duty Shift Manager

who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.


The position is based in Edinburgh Craigentinny .


Your main responsibilities will be control of maintenance teams overseeing, fault finding and repair of Hitachi rolling stock assets and team development, continuous improvement into productivity and efficiency.


Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:


Maintain the condition of the work site, materials and equipment. Adhere to health, safety, environmental & quality practices in the workplace. Responsible on a shift basis to ensure that the team delivers the contractual requirements for availability of train to the correct standard to meet the diagrammed requirements of the TOC To ensure all contractual KPI's are complete for each train before entering service. To ensure that all records are completed and entered into the maintenance management system. Obtain and use engineering schedules, procedures and specifications for traction and rolling stock activities. Support good quality, health, safety and environmental practices in the workplace. Organise resources and prioritise routines to undertake planned traction and rolling stock engineering activities. Responsible for the safe movement of rolling stock Responsible for the recruitment of the maintenance team members Responsible for the continued development of the maintenance teams Control costs through planning of resources Identify and deal with hazards in the railway environment. Carry out in process and post maintenance checks in accordance with the SSHEQ manager to drive continued improvement in maintenance activities. Diagnose faults in traction and rolling stock assets and pass to the technical team. Gather and execute the maintenance plan from the central planning resource / Production Manager Development of improvements in maintenance processes Deal with disciplinary issues within the maintenance teams Carryout assessments in line with the depot competence management system as required. Accept and confirm responsibility for the control of traction and rolling stock assets. Develop professionally and support good working relationships. Learn new skills in accordance with Hitachi's new business demands as required. Liaison with Hitachi and external personnel as required to complete the duties of the post. Assist as required.

M & E ONC or served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines

Sound knowledge of, and compliance to, rules and regulations (internal and external) Good written and verbal communication skills Able to represent Hitachi in a professional manner at all times. Good team worker

Desirable



Stock-Specific maintenance and faulting Manual Handling Intermediate IT skills - typically Word, Excel, Equinox Powered plant and tools - air / 110v Depot Protection Working at Height AC/DC Depot isolation
