Job Title: Programme Manager - Developing the Young Workforce - D&G (DYW)
Reporting to: Programme Director - Developing the Young Workforce (DYW)
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Employer & Office: D&G Chamber of Commerce, Carmont House, The Crichton, Dumfries. This role is flexible between the office, schools and businesses in the region.

The role of the DYW Programme Manager is to connect employers with education to prepare young people for the world of work. This is a challenging but rewarding role where you will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills, be a confident user of MS Office and social media and be able to plan and manage multiple projects and initiatives.
You will need to demonstrate creativity and initiative as well as be able to work with other partners to develop opportunities for young people to engage with employers. The role covers Dumfries and Galloway with travel throughout the region and occasionally nationally.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with the Programme Director to deliver the Scottish Governments employer engagement approach to Developing the Young Workforce.
Deliver on national KPIs and other performance indicators ensuring that all management information is accurate and updated on the Rubi client management system.
Identify and engage with a range of employers to deliver employability programmes and opportunities for young people, to help them gain skills, experience, and knowledge of pathways into employment.
Highlight potential work-based learning opportunities including employer engagement for pupils who would benefit most.
Facilitate DYW School Coordinator requests for creating school-employer partnerships.

Build strong relationships with employers, including the promotion of apprenticeships and other work-related opportunities for young people.
Understand each employer's motivation for engaging with young people and facilitate delivery of this, including supporting employer focussed communications and marketing.
Create employer focussed initiatives for young people to become involved with businesses.
Use multimedia platforms to promote careers within different business sectors.
Engage with key partners in support of the delivery of DYW events and activities including Education, Skills Development Scotland, Employability & Skills, DWP, etc.
Engage and work with the wider Chamber of Commerce team and DYW D&G Board as required.
Represent the Chamber of Commerce / DYW at events or functions as required and work to ensure the Chamber / DYW profile is maintained at an elevated level.
Carry out such other tasks as may be required by the Programme Director / Chamber of Commerce
