two EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistants

to work

with pupils who speak Somali.

About the Role:

Work

1:1

with pupils who have

Special Educational Needs

and speak Somali as their first language. Provide language support, help pupils access learning, and build confidence in both English and Somali. Support classroom learning, small group work and individual interventions. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to ensure pupils make progress both academically and emotionally. Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

Fluent Somali

language skills , spoken, written and understood. Experience supporting children or young people (school or community setting). A calm, patient and positive approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
(Previous school experience or working with EAL/SEN pupils is desirable but not essential full training will be provided.)
