Job Description

Mill House Club Limited are seeking a new Apprentice to study for their level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, supported by our Learning Provider and working in the setting learning the job of Play Worker. We will consider all candidates with a genuine desire to follow a career path in working with children. Mill House Club is a childcare provider with an exciting and interesting environment for children in their Before and After School and Holiday Clubs, based onsite at local schools in Escrick and Riccall. We seek candidates who have a keen sense of fun, and can relate to children aged 3 - 11 years. You should be able to bring ideas for play, and have a flexible and adaptable approach. Shifts are split, so you will need to be available from 7.30-9am each morning and 3-6pm each afternoon during term time, as well as for additional training time in between. Additional hours are also available during the school holidays at our Holiday Club. The Apprenticeship will take approximately 18 months to complete, and there will be a permanent role as a Play Worker available on successful completion of the Apprenticeship. You must have GCSE grade 4 or better in English to apply for this role. This role also requires a DBS check to be undertaken.

Responsibilities



Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in the setting. Support early childhood education activities and promote learning through play. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a positive environment. Help maintain a safe and clean space, ensuring all health and safety regulations are met. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance childcare skills and knowledge.
Job Type: Apprenticeship

Pay: 6.50-7.50 per hour

Are you able to work on a split shift basis 7.30-9am and 3-6.15pm each weekday during term time at our settings in Escrick and Riccall? You will either be working at Riccall CP School (YO19 6PF) or Escrick C of E School (YO19 6JQ) each week on split shifts, please confirm that you will be able to get to work - we are on the 415 York to Selby bus route at both settings
