What we expect from you
As an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner you will have the opportunity to rotate around the nursery rooms and our outdoor learning environments, gaining hands-on experience in all areas of our nurseries.
This, coupled with your apprentice training in Early Years, will equip you with all the skills, experience and qualification to apply to progress into a qualified educator role with us. This Apprenticeship will either be for a level 2 early years practitioner or level 3 early years educator depending on experience with a great starting hourly rate.
Main purpose of the job
To deliver a high standard of teaching, learning, development and care for children aged 0-5 years.
To develop high standards and the latest knowledge of current EYFS practices and to serve as an example to the other practitioners, apprentices, and students/volunteers in the setting.
To develop and work in partnership with children, parents and other professionals to improve the quality of Early Years' provision, including Physical, Emotional, Social, and Intellectual Education and Care for children in the setting.
To develop outstanding practice and share knowledge and understanding of children's care, learning and development throughout your setting and across the Early Years' sector.
To support and collaborate with other practitioners in the knowledge, skills and behaviours that promote good outcomes for children.
To ensure the Nursery is complaint with the EYFS, Safeguarding and Ofsted Welfare Requirements.
To ensure the Nursery is compliant with all Health and Safety Practices.
To continuously develop your Professional Development.
To support the Nursery Management with the day-to-day operations.
Safeguarding and Child Protection:
To possess high standards of Safeguarding and Child Protection including up to date knowledge, practice, and procedures and to serve as an example to the other practitioners, apprentices, and students/volunteers in the setting.
To support the settings Safeguarding and Child Protection practices and keep children safe.
To implement robust Safeguarding disclosure and referral procedures.
To promote all Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and procedures including Whistleblowing and the safety and protection of children, families, and staff.
To ensure the settings Safeguarding and Child Protection practices are compliant with the Local Authority and Ofsted and Government Legislation.
Day to day you will learn to:
Support your team in the delivery of basic childcare routines
Be responsible for the delivery of our 'learning through play' educational ethos
Innovate with activities and constantly challenging your children's learning and development
Build and maintain excellent relationships with parents
Promote child welfare and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed

GCSE in English and Maths (Desirable, but must be completed alongside the Apprenticeship)

Training is Essential to this role but will be provided within the induction period.*
This role is part-time, fixed for 12 months with the option to continue and is based on 35 hours per week (20% of which is spent on learning in and outside the setting).
Safeguarding Disclosure
To apply, you must be aged 17 or over (to comply with Ofsted rules), currently reside in the UK and hold suitable Right To Work in the UK. We are sorry, VISA sponsorship is not available at present. Before commencing in your new role, you will be required to provide Right To Work documentation and any relevant qualifications. An enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references must also be obtained for you. Rest assured our management team are on hand to support and guide you through every step of the process.
Additional Information:
All staff will be subject to regular supervision sessions and will be required to sign a suitability declaration on an annual basis to ensure that ongoing suitability is monitored.
All staff must hold an in date paediatric first aid certificate.
All staff must hold relevant Safeguarding Training to be identified by the Nursery Manager.
All employees must clear all aspects of our Safer Recruitment procedures including a DBS check, application form, evidence of qualifications and training/courses, two references that cover at least three years of employment, Health Declaration Form, two forms of identification and the right to work in the UK.
All employees are made aware of their responsibility to notify their Line manager(s) immediately of any changes to their circumstances that may affect their suitability to work with children - this is also the case in terms of any changes to the circumstances of those who live with the member of staff.
