About the role:
As a
Trainer/Assessor in Early Years
you'll be integral to CRC's
CHEY's Work-Based Learning team
. Your mission is to deliver high-quality training and assessments to a caseload of learners both on campus and in workplace settings--to apprentices and adult learners up to Level 3. You will organise, provide, monitor and assess training and support for learners on their programmes within the area of Care, Health and Early Years Work Based Learning Department, ensuring apprentices complete all the required learning and are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment.
Key responsibilities of the Trainer/ Assessor role
Deliver Practical Instruction
Coach and assess students during sessions in college and within their workplace settings, guiding them through Early Years qualifications and Standards to meet assessment criteria.
Manage Learner Progress
Support learners' progress by completing assessments, managing e?portfolios or paperwork, monitoring progress, and facilitating both on?program and end?point assessments
Employer Engagement & Work-Based Assessment
Build and maintain relationships with employers to support work-based learning, carry out workplace assessments, coordinate learning programmes, and conduct risk assessments where needed
Onboarding & Reviews
Conduct induction sessions for new learners, assist with learner interviews, facilitate learning reviews, set targets, and ensure alignment with apprenticeship standards
Administrative & Quality Assurance Duties
Keep assessment documentation accurate, participate in course reviews, internal verification, self-assessment processes, and comply with policy frameworks including equality, diversity, safeguarding, and health & safety
Reporting to the WBL Manager

What we are looking for in our role:
A self-motivated, creative and flexible individual with good interpersonal, administrative and communication skills
The ideal applicant will be an experienced and competent early years practitioner, organised and able to meet deadlines showing attention to detail and have the ability to cultivate good working relationships with colleagues, students and employers.
Knowledge of current Apprenticeship Standards and End Point Assessment requirements is desirable, but training in this area will be given to suitable candidates
Applicants should hold a L3 qualification in Early Years, have good IT skills and current occupational competency which is essential to this role. An Assessor qualification is preferred but not essential as full training can be given.
Ability to work flexibly, and in possession of current driving licence, and be willing to use own car, insured for business use (mileage will be reimbursed), or alternative means to travel extensively.
