Our setting is a homely environment situated on a farm in Ireleth, just outside of Askam - In - Furness who care for children from 9 months - 5 years old all year round.

Requirements
- You must hold a level 2 Food Hygiene certificate and be willing to work towards your level 3 Food hygiene certificate.
- You must have relevant experience within a similar role
- Your working hours will be 9:30 am - 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday all year around.
- There may be the option of overtime covering in the rooms if you hold a level 3 or above qualification on childcare, however this is preferable not essential for the role.
- You will be required to carry out all the kitchen duties, including preparation and cooking of the meals and maintaining a good standard of food hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- You must be able to prepare suitable nutritious food for a busy nursery. Experience working within an early years or school environment would be beneficial.
- DBS enhancement check and signing up to the update system, completing relevant safeguarding training.
Your role as Nursery Cook will include
- Preparation and delivery of nutritionally balanced, family-style meals for all children aged 0 - 5 years, following our recently created menu to meet the new EYFS nutritional guidance.
- Completing a shopping list every week of food you need ordering for the next week and stock control
- Completing and following the 'Better food, safer practice' booklet for our setting
- Ensuring that hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation
- Following kitchen procedures and maintain records in accordance with Environmental Health policies and processes
- Ensuring all special dietary requirements/allergies are met
- Cleaning up in the rooms after dinner
- Keeping on top of washing and drying throughout your shift
