Role Overview
As the Early Years Coordinator, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager and leadership team to inspire and support our passionate educators. You will help lead a curriculum that is child-centered, holistic, and rooted in the four purposes of the Curriculum for Wales. Your role will also include enhancing staff development and building strong partnerships with families to create a welcoming, inclusive, and enriching environment.
This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday), offering fantastic opportunities for career progression and continuous professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Nursery Manager to implement and oversee a curriculum that reflects the Curriculum for Wales, embedding the four purposes into daily practice.
Support, mentor, and guide staff, modelling high-quality teaching and learning through peer observations and in-house training.
Assist in developing staff rotas and maintaining a harmonious, productive work environment.
Observe and document children's progress, using formative assessment to tailor learning experiences to individual needs.
Engage with parents and carers through regular communication, sharing progress and celebrating success.
Take a lead role in team meetings, contributing to strategic planning, staff development, and continuous improvement.
Deliver and coordinate training sessions, promoting reflective practice and professional development.
Champion the well-being, safety, and rights of every child, ensuring adherence to safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
Support the Nursery Manager in staff recruitment, onboarding, and team building.
Drive the nursery's vision and values in line with Welsh Government priorities for early years education.

Daily Duties
Lead imaginative and meaningful learning experiences that develop children as ambitious, capable learners and confident individuals.
Model best practices in line with the Curriculum for Wales, ensuring a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities.
Provide individualised care and learning support to children, promoting emotional well-being, creativity, and resilience.
Use your leadership skills to motivate and inspire staff, maintaining a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Plan and deliver seasonal projects, special events, and enriched learning opportunities indoors and outdoors.
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive setting that enables every child to thrive and belong.
Regularly observe and assess children's development, supporting next steps and celebrating their unique achievements.
Foster strong partnerships with families through daily updates, consultations, and involvement in the life of the setting.
Take part in ongoing training and development opportunities, reflecting the ethos of lifelong learning.
Support a reflective end-of-day debrief to celebrate what went well and identify areas for growth.

What We're Looking For
A minimum of 3 years' experience in early years education.
Experience in a leadership or supervisory role - or a strong aspiration to lead and inspire.
Strong understanding of child development and the Curriculum for Wales (2022).
A passion for creating nurturing, inclusive, and empowering learning environments.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both adults and children.
A proactive, organised, and reflective approach to leadership and early years practice.
A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's rights and well-being.
