About the role

The role centres around supporting the collection, processing and monitoring of vital funding data submitted by early years & childcare providers across the borough. You'll be a key player in maintaining accurate records, resolving submission issues, and supporting processes to ensure timely payments and contributing to the smooth delivery of funded early years education across Rochdale.

Whether it's helping providers navigate the early years portal or leading on specialist payments like Disability Access Fund support, every task you handle contributes to a more responsive and equitable early years system. You'll also play a role in creating and preparing data for reports that inform key decisions.

This is a role that blends administrative precision with people first service and offers a unique opportunity to make a difference behind the scenes of early education.

About you

You're organised, detail-focused and confident working with data. You enjoy helping others and solving problems with patience and clarity. You understand the importance of data protection and accuracy, and you're ready to support early years providers while keeping systems running smoothly.

You're comfortable using databases and digital data solutions, and you understand the importance of compliance to statutory regulations. But beyond your technical know-how, you bring empathy, patience and a calm problem-solving approach when supporting early years providers and parents navigate the systems of government early education and childcare funding claims. Every spreadsheet, audit, and report you produce contributes to strengthening local early education and childcare services.

About us

We're a small and committed team within the wider early years, early help and neighbourhood services driving equitable access to government funded early education services. Our work blends precision with purpose, you'll join a supportive and collaborative environment where your contribution directly impacts Rochdale's youngest residents. You'll work alongside services that support quality of provision, inclusion and wider family services for children aged 0-4 years and their families.

The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects staff to share this commitment.
