Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and evaluate
engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, and learning through play.
Observe, assess, and document
each child's progress in line with early years frameworks, using insights to tailor activities that support individual learning and development.
Apply a strong understanding of child development
to identify needs, adapt teaching strategies, and ensure every child reaches their potential.
Foster secure, trusting relationships
with children, promoting confidence, independence, and self-esteem.
Communicate effectively
with parents and caregivers, sharing observations, progress, and strategies to support learning at home.
Collaborate with colleagues
to create a positive, safe, and inclusive nursery environment that celebrates diversity and encourages mutual respect.
Model positive behaviour management techniques
, guiding children with empathy and consistency.
Contribute to the continuous improvement
of nursery practices, bringing new ideas that enhance the quality of early childhood education and care.
Skills and Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of child development
and early years learning theories.
Proficiency in English
, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with children and adults.
Experience working in a nursery or early years setting
is essential.
Strong leadership and teamwork skills
, with the ability to motivate and inspire both children and colleagues.
Excellent organisational skills
with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a calm and positive approach.
Familiarity with early years frameworks and best childcare practices
(EYFS or equivalent) is highly desirable.
