Who we're looking for:
You're a caring, motivated practitioner with a sense of fun and a love for early childhood. You're as comfortable leading a group story time as you are answering important questions like "Why is the moon following me?" or "Can cats go to nursery?"
You understand that:
Singing out of tune is a strength, not a weakness
Glitter is a permanent part of your wardrobe
Children remember everything -- including your lunch choices
You may be their whole world one day, and invisible the next (especially in Sainsbury's)
The smallest achievements are the biggest milestones
Your presence can make a child feel safe, seen and special
Key Responsibilities
As an Early Years Educator, your role is central to creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. You will:
Build strong, caring relationships with children to support their emotional wellbeing and development
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support each area of the EYFS
Observe, assess and record children's progress, sharing insights with families and the wider team
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture
Be a reliable Key Person for a group of children, helping them feel safe, supported, and valued
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment, both indoors and outdoors
Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing daily feedback and building trust
Support the implementation of nursery policies and uphold safeguarding procedures at all times
Embrace training opportunities and contribute to ongoing improvements in practice and provision
Be a positive role model for children and colleagues alike
What you'll need:
A
Level 2 or Level 3
qualification in Childcare or Early Years (or above)
A strong understanding of the EYFS
A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn
A genuine interest in helping children grow emotionally, socially, and cognitively
