Job Description

Muddy Ducks is a small, independent nursery, based in Dinton Pastures Country Park, Wokingham. We are outdoor focussed and spend the majority of our day in our large garden or within the country park. We aim to reintroduce children to the great outdoors, enabling them to readily identify wildlife, blackberries and conkers.

Research shows that children are spending less time outdoors and now know less about the natural world than ever before; this is leading to poor physical and mental health and a lack of awareness of nature and its benefits. We offer children the opportunity to explore the great outdoors both within the nursery garden and the wider country park. We follow an ambitious curriculum focussing on active free play, which is essential to healthy growth and progress. Whilst outdoors our children receive direct experience of weather, the seasons and wildlife; they assess risks, solve problems and develop their creativity.

A love of fresh air, mud and puddles is essential. A basic knowledge of plants, and British wildlife would be preferable, but this can be learnt within the role for an enthusiastic individual.

The role would be 20 - 40 hours per week; based on the needs of the applicant.

This is an all year role, not term-time. School hours not available.

The role would suit an individual with experience within the education sector.
