Job Description

Your role will be to greet customers as they arrive and take payment or check online reservations. You will also be making hot drinks and serving cake but full barista training will be given in using our coffee machine. However, barista experience would be preferred.

We run two Stay and Play sessions throughout the day for 0 - 4 year olds. At weekends we also run children's parties. In between play sessions your role will be to reset the play stations and clean down areas to get everything ready for the next session.

Strong customer service skills are essential, as is a passion for working in an environment with babies and toddlers and their parents. Children will always be supervised by their parents however your role will be to ensure that the play sessions run smoothly.

We are looking for someone who is meticulous in resetting the play environment to ensure that is clean and welcoming. It is a fast paced work environment so it is essential that you are able to reset the play space within a time frame to ensure it is ready for the next play session. Job satisfaction from creating a tidy and inviting play space is essential in this role.

If you enjoy cleaning and tidying, making coffees and putting a smile on the faces of your customers with your friendly and welcoming demeanour this could be the job for you!

Having an understanding of how babies and toddlers explore and play would be desirable but is not essential.

Having a strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently are key features of this role. Most shifts you will be working by yourself for the majority of the shift.

Experience Required:

Essential:

- Exemplary Customer Service

- Demonstrated problem solving skills/ability to use initiative

- Experience in cleaning

- A strong eye for detail

- Always considering Health and Safety with utmost importance and following health and safety protocols

- Excellent time management and working to deadlines

- DBS checked

- Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

- Experience in working with babies and toddlers

- Barista/coffee shop experience

- First Aid Qualification

We are looking for team members to join us and create a welcoming play space for the local community. Our play space has comfortable sofas and our play stations have been designed to create a calming play space for babies and toddlers and the opportunity for parents to recharge.

We have 2/3 positions available:

WEEKEND HOURS:

Saturday 9:15am - 3:30pm

Sunday 9:15am - 4pm

Sunday 1pm - 4pm

WEEKDAY HOURS:

Tuesday 1pm - 5pm

Wednesday 11am - 1pm

Thursday 9am - 1pm*

Thursday 11am - 4:30pm*

Friday 11am - 1pm

*Alternatively Thursday hours could be 9am - 4:30pm & 11am - 1pm

If there was the possibility to provide weekday/weekend holiday or sickness cover that would be a real positive.

We are open all year and are therefore looking for staff who can commit to all year around (rather than term time).

We are looking to build a team and are looking for people who get job satisfaction from creating an enjoyable play experience for parents and young children. We will provide First Aid training and the Food Safety and Hygiene for Catering Level 2 training.

We offer 20 days holiday a year (pro rata for part time employees), pension contribution (if applicable) and quarterly staff socials.
