Job Description

Our growing childcare facility is looking for an Early Years Practitioner, minimum qualification required is level 3 in early years education. Someone who can help to create a fun environment and incorporate educational programmes that assist in our children's development. The Early Years Practitioner will be responsible for monitoring and supporting the children in our programme, aged between 9 months -5 years, developing a curriculum that the children will respond to positively and partnering with our team to enhance the learning environment at our preschool. Our nursery is open for 50 weeks of the year, offering childcare during the school holidays as well as term time. Main duties and responsibilities:



To provide safe, high quality education and care for young children. To maintain a stimulating and enjoyable environment. Ensure the smooth day to day running of the setting and daily routine. To work up to 40 hours per week. Act as a role model for other staff, maintaining the high reputation of preschool both on and off the premises. Support staff and other personnel, providing guidance and/or training to ensure the highest standards of care, learning and development are maintained. To help set up the preschool environment for the daily programme and to help to tidy away at the end of the session, ensuring that all toys and equipment are safe and clean at all times. To advise the Preschool Manager of any concerns e.g. over children. Child protection and safeguarding, parents/carers or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary. Ensure policies, procedures and ethos of the setting are followed at all times by all users. To fulfil duties as a key worker including engaging and interacting with all children, providing the highest possible standards of care, support and stimulation. Undertaking observations, making assessments (with tapestry and any other methods necessary), planning for children's needs, liaising closely with parents/carers to ensure that each child's needs are recognised and met. To have sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS. To work with others to plan the curriculum and learning experiences for children in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage. To plan next steps for key children at home and in the setting, taking into account the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Awareness of any child within the setting who may have SEND, to be familiar with relevant play and learning plans. Actively promote inclusive practice in settings. To attend staff meetings. To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required. To keep complete confidential information regarding the children, their families, or staff which is required as part of the job. To keep up to date with current good practice. To contribute to the SEF and FIP. To contribute and help with displays. To take part in supervision meetings and staff appraisals with the Preschool Manager. Small amounts of petty cash to purchase items required for setting. Interaction with children indoors and outdoors and within the community during visits. To hold a minimum of Level 3 qualification in Early Years. Is reliable and keeps good time.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 11.50-12.00 per hour
