To provide a caring and secure environment for babies and children 6months to 5years. To be an effective team member, ensure parent partnership and organise exciting activities.
Job description- Early years practitioner
We are committed to providing children and families with a safe, secure and happy environment and we take the safeguarding of children very seriously. Therefore, this role requires you to have good knowledge and understanding of child protection and safeguarding.
You must have sound understanding of the EYFS and Ofsted framework. You will understand and promote a love of learning through play, demonstrating knowledge of inspirational practitioners and theories around this.
The candidate should be highly motivated and committed to the role, assisting the management team in running the day to day routines: providing safe, high quality childcare and education within the setting. You must have a minimum childcare level 2 qualification to apply for this role.
You must be passionate about outdoor learning and be resilient to being outside in all weathers- promoting this within the nursery and encouraging children to do the same.
This role will be permanent. But will start on a probation period of 6 months, the hours may vary but will fall over 4 days. Shifts will fall in the hours of 8am and 5pm.
We are passionate about the importance of health and well-being. The hours of this role are to be confirmed but could initially be between 18-27 hrs per week. The candidate must be flexible on working days and working hours within this role and must be willing to change days, extend their hours and cover staff holidays.
Training and CPD will be provided as required and to highlight your strengths, passions and interests in early years education.

It is vital that we have a great team at Gilderdale nursery and to do that we must get the right person for the role.
You need to be fun, creative and hard working. You must be flexible, reliable and committed to your role.
As a practitioner, you have an influence on the early years in a child's life and it is imperative that you have good values, sensible attitudes and kind behaviour. It is part of your role to model these to the children.
Qualifications are vital and experience is desired, you must have a qualification that is listed in the department for education's criteria list to be invited to interview.
