Lathallan Nursery is part of Lathallan School and delivers high quality education and childcare for children from birth to 5 years within its sprawling 60 acre grounds.

Job Summary

We are looking for individuals passionate about early years with an enthusiasm for outdoor learning, a drive to learn and who want to be part of a highly dedicated team.

Working with all age groups you will support Practitioners in the daily care and education of young children. You will have an eagerness to learn and get involved with the day-to-day running of the nursery.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must hold a minimum of Nat 5 in English in grade C or above and be aged between 16-19 years of age to apply.

Whilst working in the Nursery you will work towards your SVQ 3 Social Services Children and Young People qualification. A tutor will visit you regularly to support and assess you in your training. You will have in house mentoring and training to support your learning and progress.

Candidates Duties

Have a commitment to learning and development Be able to manage their own time and have the ability to work independently on assigned tasks Have a positive outlook and the ability to work well under direction. Be able to promote and support positive relationships with all service users. Enjoy time spent outdoors in all weathers Have the ability to engage positively with children taking an active part in their learning. Be able to undertake intimate care of young children e.g. Toileting, Nappy Changing etc. Be prepared to follow all infection control procedures and policies maintaining the cleanliness of the Nursery.
This position is for a 15-month contract. Working hours are 30 hours across the week between the hours of 7.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday. The wage reflects that of the National Apprentice Rate.
