Job Summary


We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Playspaces Arbroath on a relief and bank basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and play. This position requires strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a genuine love for working with children.

This will be a relief and bank staff position, covering the full year and all age ranges. You could be asked to cover holidays with advance notice and staff sickness at short notice.

Responsibilities



Work together to create and implement age-appropriate provocations and plans for the children in your care. Provide a warm, safe and welcoming atmosphere for children, ensuring their needs are listened to. Manage daily routines such as transitions, meals, sleeps, while encouraging positive interactions among children. Communicate effectively with families about children's progress, daily feedback and any concerns that may arise. Observe and assess children's development, documenting their achievements, milestones and progress. Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of all children and promotes teamwork with co-workers. Keep a high standard of cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting. Adhere to relevant national and local standards and be willing to under take relevant training for professional development.

Person specification



A qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare is essential. HNC or equivalent. Previous experience working with children in a nursery or educational setting is highly desirable. A strong understanding of child development and early years frameworks (such as Realising the Ambition). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues and build relationships. SSSC registration (or eligibility to register) and PVG scheme membership. A genuine passion for early years education and a commitment to fostering children's development. Ability to demonstrate creativity in planning engaging activities that stimulate learning. A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with young children. The ability to work within all age ranges with varied staff confidently.
