The role offers between 20 and 40 hours per week, with flexibility to negotiate your working pattern. This position is available all year round.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally, candidates will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years. However, we are happy to consider applicants who are willing to work towards achieving a Level 2 or Level 3 award, with our support.

Location
Our preschool is set in the beautiful rural village of Luckington, just outside Chippenham. We are conveniently located near Malmesbury, Tetbury, Corsham, and Chippenham, and we are on the border of the South Gloucestershire area, covering Badminton, Tormarton, and Yate.

About Our Setting
We are a small setting, but excited to be expanding. On average, we welcome 20 children per day aged between 2 and 4 years, and we offer wraparound care in the morning and afternoon for Luckington School. Our team consists of 8 warm and kind staff members, each bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our setting.

MAIN DUTIES
To work alongside the Manager, Deputy and the staff team with a positive manner to uphold the ethos and values of the Preschool.
To develop the planning and seasonal curriculum plans to ensure that the individual needs of the children are identified and met using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for guidance.
To contribute to maintaining an attractive and welcoming environment, especially within base room.
To support your team in the smooth running of the Preschool and to help set up and tidy away daily activities.
To be pro-active in looking for opportunities to improve your room.
To act as key person to a group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.
To keep an up-to-date and relevant record of key children's development in the form of observations, development records, age refinements, etc.
To work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members ensuring the equality of access and opportunity is afforded to all.
To advise the Manager of any concerns e.g., health, safeguarding and well-being of children, parents/carers or the safety of equipment.
To provide for children's basic needs in terms of changing, washing and toilet training.
To always supervise and support children.
To be vigilant of health and safety issues, conducting risk assessments as necessary and reporting any issues to the Preschool Manager.
To work alongside parents of children with additional needs to provide full inclusion in the Preschool.
To follow the setting's whistle blowing and safeguarding policy.
To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.
To ensure we offer all children equal opportunities, with regards to religious persuasion, ethnic origins, gender, disabilities and cultural or linguistic backgrounds.
To ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures.
To support mealtimes within the setting and assist with preparation where necessary.
To assist with domestic tasks within the Preschool ensuring the equipment, toys and premises are kept clean and tidy.
To actively participate at staff meetings, supervisions and appraisals.
To attend training courses as required and to take responsibility for personal development.
To ensure confidentiality, where appropriate, is maintained.
To be aware of and adhere to all the setting's operational policies, procedures and risk assessments.
To ensure the setting's paperwork is completed accurately.
To promote the setting to current parents/carers and potential customers.
To work effectively as part of a team and undertake any other reasonable duties discussed and directed by the Manager or Senior staff.
To always model best practice, lead, guide and support preschool room staff.
To be flexible and adaptable in their approach to fulfilling their duties.
