Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an independent, friendly organisation providing childcare for children aged 0 to 12 years old.

Due to expanding numbers, we are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic Early years practitioner with Baby and SEND knowledge to join our team who provide full day care for children aged 0 to 12 years.

This is an exciting and varied role and the successful candidate will work under the direction of the manager to provide high quality care in a safe environment within a busy Early years setting.

The successful candidate

must hold at least a full and relevant early years and childcare qualification at Level 3

they should possess the following attributes:

Have a strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and playworker framework Be able to work in line with the legal requirements set within the EYFS and Ofsted standards Be flexible and creative and must have the ability to promote good practice in a professional manner Be able to follow and embed the companies policies and procedures and comply with Ofsted Regulations. Be able to plan, organise, supervise and carry out a suitable activity and educational programme for children and be able to support staff with this. Be able to maintain a safe, secure and hygienic environment for children. Be able to support staff and engage in a good staff team. Able to communicate and maintain good relationships with parents / carers on all matters relating to the pre school as well as to update them on their child's progress Ensure the environment is secure at all times. Be able to work within the hours Butterfield Pre School operates as deemed necessary to ensure adequate staff to children ratios are maintained. Experience of working in a very busy childcare environment. Experience in working with children under 2 years old Have an Enhanced DBS check Be able to provide suitable references. Current Paediatric First Aid Qualification - desirable Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities Multi-task oriented Full clean driving license - desirable IT skills are desirable, but not essential. Food Hygiene - desirable Safeguarding children level 1
Roles will include:

Welcoming and collecting children into the setting. Completing risk assessments, devising and running interesting activities. Making snack, dealing with phone calls, queries and bookings. Communicating with staff team, school staff, parents and other childcare professionals. Completing online profiles Being a team player. Knowledge of working 1:1 with children with additional needs is desirable Knowledge of SEND needs is desirable Knowledge of behaviour management and THRIVE is desirable
Working a minimum 16 hours (part time role) maximum 37.5 hours (full time role) over a 5 day week, Monday to Friday.

Shift patterns vary between 7:30am - 6pm.
