Who we're looking for...



We are looking for an experienced and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team. You

will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care, education, and support to the children within

our setting. Through a nurturing and inclusive approach, you will facilitate children's

development while building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Key responsibilities



? T o promote and display the Evergreen Way, maintaining the highest level of

professionalism at all times.

? T o observe children, find out their interests and preferences, assess their development,

and provide learning opportunities that will support and develop their learning further.

? T o provide activities, and create an environment that sparks children's interests,

introduces new ideas, develops their skills and knowledge, challenges and engages

them.

? T o interact and engage with children, considering the importance of early language and

communication skills.

? T o develop positive relationships with children and their families through your role as a

keyworker, making sure children feel cared for, confident and secure.

? T o share information with parents through daily conversations, meetings and using our

FAMLY App. T o upload photographs and weekly updates for parents on children's

activities, next steps and achievements. T o welcome and encourage parent's

involvement in their child's development and develop close links between home and

nursery.

? T o ensure that all children are provided with the equal opportunities to play, take part and

learn and develop at their own pace.

? T o work as part of an effective team, supporting others and asking for this in return when

you need it.

? T o communicate effectively with all members of the Evergreen team, children, families

and other professionals.

? T o attend team meetings and development days, and to share your ideas, points of view

and to contribute to decision making.

? T o identify any children or families that may need help, to share this with the appropriate

person and to contribute to providing extra support.

? T o assess, monitor and maintain a safe and secure environment for all children, the

team, families and visitors.

? T o be actively involved in the planning, preparation, and evaluation of the Evergreen

curriculum.

? T o implement daily routines for all the children in your care, and to monitor the

effectiveness of these and alter them as needed to meet the needs of the children.

? T o understand and adhere to the statutory and guidance requirements of the Early Years

Foundation stage (EYFS).

? T o understand and complete statutory assessment checks (e.g. 2-year check)

? T o undertake domestic tasks on a rota basis as required, e.g. preparation of snacks,

cleaning etc.

? T o take on responsibility for specialist areas of early years practice as required (e.g.

health and safety, behaviour management, special needs co-ordination).

? T o be fully invested in your own professional development, through taking part in internal

and external training, peer observation, supervisions and appraisals.

Your skills and experience,



Prior practitioner experience and familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), is

crucial. Understanding the principles, goals, and objectives of this framework provides a

foundation for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and assessments.
