We are looking for a caring and committed Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones and learning through engaging activities through high quality play based practice
Responsibilities
Provide high quality care that meets the individual needs of all children
Support children's learning through play in line with Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition
Observe, record and contribute to children's learning and development
Act as a key worker and build positive relationships with children and families
Promote children's emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
Support daily routines including meals, rest periods, personal care and outdoor play
Ensure children's health, safety and wellbeing at all times
Follow safeguarding, child protection and health & safety procedures
Work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from senior staff
Communicate professionally with parents, carers and colleagues
Participate in staff meetings and training
Requirements
Essential:
Registered with the SSSC as a Practitioner (or working towards registration)
Hold or be working towards an SSSC recognised qualification at SCQF Level 7
(e.g. SVQ Social Services (Children & Young People) Level 7 or HNC Childhood Practice)
PVG Scheme membership (or willingness to apply)
A genuine passion for working with young children
Desirable:
Previous experience in an early learning and childcare setting
Knowledge of play based pedagogy and child development
