We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly supportive team. This role includes working within the setting as well as providing support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, play and routines in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Duties
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development, including social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.
Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Support children's individual needs by observing progress and providing tailored learning opportunities.
Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, attendance monitoring, and reporting incidents as required.
Collaborate with management to develop programmes that enhance early childhood education standards.
Contribute to ongoing professional development to stay updated with best practices in childcare and early years education.
Skills
Proven experience with children in childcare or nursery settings.
Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification.
Has experience or strong interest in supporting children with SEN.
Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging with children, parents, and colleagues clearly and professionally.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and nursery practices.
Ability to organise activities that support developmental milestones in young children.
Compassionate approach with patience and understanding of children's individual needs.
