Job Summary

Family First is a small, family run nursery set on the outskirts of Edinburgh. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our nursery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your experience and skills while making a positive impact on children's early learning experiences. Applicants should possess relevant experience with children, childcare qualifications, and strong communication skills to foster effective relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote early childhood development Supervise and support children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines Foster positive behaviour through encouragement and consistent boundaries Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that meet individual needs of children Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns Lead by example in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and professionalism within the nursery environment Manage daily operational tasks, including organising activities

Qualifications

Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential Relevant early childhood education or childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., SVQ 3 Children and Young People, HNC Early Education) Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Proven ability to engage children creatively and compassionately Childcare experience demonstrating understanding of child development principles Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment whilst demonstrating initiative and organisational skills

Pay: From 24,700.00 per year
