We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic
Early Years Practitioner
to join our education team. You will support the delivery of high-quality integrated day care and early education for children aged
birth to 7 years
, working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about child development, inclusive practice, and providing a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for young children. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet children's individual needs, support their learning, and help them progress confidently through key stages of early development.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality early years care and education in line with the EYFS.
Contribute to daily, weekly and termly planning that reflects individual children's needs, interests and developmental stages.
Promote children's learning and development within a safe, secure, and stimulating environment.
Carry out observations, track progress, record achievements and maintain developmental records to a high standard.
Support colleagues with key worker responsibilities and ensure smooth transitions from home to centre, and from centre to school.
Manage children's behaviour in line with setting procedures and support planned interventions for children with additional needs.
Provide physical care including toileting, changing, washing, feeding, dressing, comforting and administering medication (with appropriate training).
Follow Child Protection procedures and promptly report any safeguarding concerns.
Assist in organising outings and educational visits, ensuring children's safety at all times.
Support children with self-help skills including toileting, personal hygiene and independence routines.
Assist with lifting, mobility support and implementing movement programmes under guidance from relevant professionals.
Provide first aid, comfort unwell or injured children, and liaise with first-aiders, senior staff or medical professionals when required--including accompanying children to medical appointments or emergency care.

Experience working with young children in an early years or childcare setting.
Understanding of EYFS curriculum and child development principles.
Ability to plan, observe, assess and maintain accurate developmental records.
Strong commitment to inclusive, anti-discriminatory practice.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage behaviour calmly and constructively.
Ability to provide physical care and support children's personal needs.
Understanding of safeguarding and willingness to follow Child Protection procedures.
Ability to support children with additional or complex needs.
Willingness to work across the full shift pattern (8am-6pm).
Desirable
Early years qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) or equivalent.
Experience working within a nursery, children's centre or school environment.
Experience supporting children with SEND.
Paediatric First Aid training (or willingness to complete it).
