Job Description

Dame Allan's Junior School and Nursery is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated and successful team. You will play a key role within our outstanding, purpose-built department, directly supporting our Early Years Teachers to nurture a love of learning in Reception class and assisting with our After School Club. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a valued member of our welcoming community and contribute to the development of our youngest learners.

Reporting directly to the Head of Early Years, you will work closely with the Reception class teacher to support the children's learning and development. Your responsibilities will include assisting with engaging activities, helping with daily routines, and contributing to the organisation of the classroom. As part of the After School club team, you will plan and lead activities for children in the Early Years After School club.

Part time, term-time only (Monday to Friday, 11:15am - 6pm).

Person specification:



Hold a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education). Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and its principles. GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of implementing a systematic phonics scheme (please specify any schemes you have experience with in your application). Experience of using online journals (please specify which ones you have used in your application) to record observations and track children's progress. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. A commitment to continuous professional development. A passion for working with young children and supporting their learning and development. A valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (or willingness to obtain one).

Salary:



Between 25,911 - 26,345 (full-time equivalent)
