Qualified Early Years Practitioner.



January Start Required. 24-32 hours per week.



We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. Experience in food preparation and food safety is a plus, as well as strong communication skills and a genuine love for working with children.

Responsibilities



Develop and deliver engaging educational activities tailored to early childhood development stages Monitor and support children's social interactions, emotional well-being, and behavioral needs Ensure the safety and health of children at all times, adhering to sanitation and food handling standards when preparing snacks or meals Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for children and staff Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum activities that promote learning through play Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and daily experiences Assist with meal preparation, snack times, and food service routines as needed Uphold all health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols and sanitation procedures To work alongside all policies and procedures correctly and to ensure Kiddywinks ethos and values are upheld at all times.
To assist in making the provision and the children are the best they can be at all times.

Promoting all areas of the foundation stage.

Helping children reach the next steps.

Interacting and supporting children in a positive way to foster their enthusiasm for learning.

Planning the indoor and outdoor environment in order to provide a positive context for learning and teaching.

Provide experiences and activities that are challenging but achievable.

Working with others to plan and co-ordinate work.

Meeting requirements for the observation, assessment and recording of children's development.

Sharing knowledge gained with other practitioners and parents.

Organising time and material resources.

Using creative and practical skills to prepare learning materials

Attending in service training.

Organising and attending outings

General care of children to include;-

1. Personal Care

2. Mealtimes

3. Cleaning

4. All other essential needs

Keeping the nursery in a clean and tidy state.

To ensure confidentiality at all times.

To attend regular staff meetings.

Skills



Experience in food preparation, food handling, or working within the food industry is advantageous Strong time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities efficiently Excellent customer service skills when interacting with parents, guardians, and children Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper kitchen procedures Previous experience in early childhood education or related roles such as childcare or preschool teaching is preferred Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment focused on serving young children effectively

Job Summary



The post holder works under the direction of the Manager and Deputy Manager and will carry out a range of Child Care Duties.

The post holder will work as part of a team consisting of qualified, non-qualified staff and volunteers.

The post holder will have specific roles within the nursery working alongside all staff, students and volunteers to support, guide and develop them in all areas regarding additional needs. And;

Must always show a high regard to all areas of safeguarding, working consistently, understanding all of the children in our care, keeping up to date with relevant training and policy, Knowing our families well and demonstrating a duty of care to every one linked to Kiddywinks.

Will inform Management of any concerns that become apparent before any steps are taken.

Will have a key role in working with parents, practitioners and professionals from other agencies to support and recognise any learning needs presented and working in partnership to resolve them quickly. Ensuring that the best learning opportunities are provided for all children.

To carry out specific, focused and targeted observations on children, that have presented signs of requiring extra support.

Will show regard to all additional needs including learning and development delay, gifted and talented, EAL, behaviour management, physical disability, grief and separation anxiety.

Will commit to undertaking any training and professional development that is suggested by Management, suggesting and training for other staff members that may be relevant to their roles.

Will ensure all the key responsibilities below are upheld.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From 12.70 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
