Main Purpose of Job

. Part Time Term time only 20hrs per week 9.00am - 1.00 This may increase with number of children attending.

To work as part of a team, in contributing to a high standard of quality emotional, social, physical and intellectual care for children within the preschool, as set in accordance to the Early Years Foundation Stage.

To give support to other colleagues and other professionals within the preschool to up hold the preschool's ethos and standards.

Be part of the team to maintain a good/ Outstanding grade with Ofsted

To liaise with parents and carers as part of the key person role

To Help implement the daily routine of the preschool

To take responsibility alongside the preschool management team for the safety, security and well-being of all children, staff and visitors at all times.

To ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed in line with preschool and Local Authority policies and guidance

The respect of confidentiality is paramount and must always be endorsed with regard to information on children, their families and other staff/ management/committee

Duties and Responsibilities

To look upon the preschool holistically where your skills can be utilised to, be aware of the children's interests to provide a warm, welcoming stimulating learning environment.

To put out resources and activities that are age/stage appropriate and take into consideration the characteristics of children's learning.

To contribute to the planning of activities being either child initiated, from children's interests, characteristics of their learning or next step. That will underpin the ethos that all children are helped to fulfil their individual development potentials.

Support children with SEND

Liaise with and support parents and carers, taking into consideration cultural and ethnic beliefs.

Ability to identify and refer concerns of child welfare or development, and report these to the manager. Work collaboratively with the preschool's Senco and other outside professional bodies.

To attend out of hours activities, e.g. training, staff meetings, outings and special occasion activities.

Be flexible within working practice of the preschool.

Clear away resources and activities with and without children's' help; including the cleaning of resources and toys and other domestic duties, including general cleaning. Using cleaning products in accordance to COSHH regulations (generally done at the end of the summer term for a deep clean)

To have good knowledge of health and hygiene practices for the use in cooking activities and the preparation of snacks for the children.

To help with children's lunches.

Attend the needs of children with regard wetting/soiling and changing following the preschool's set procedures and policies.

Take a responsibility for health and safety standards for the children and other staff members, reporting any areas of concern to the manager.

Make known to the manager/deputy any child arriving with existing injuries.

Record accidents, incidents and arriving with injuries in the preschool's accident book, ensuring the manager/deputy has initialled the report before parents received notification of the incident.

Ensure that a child is collected by their nominated person, following the settings collection policy.

To facilitate with transitions of children.

Any other duties that may occur from time to time by request of the manager/Deputy or Committee.

Personal Profile

To maintain good personal hygiene and appearance which reflects the high profile of the preschool.

To be a good time keeper.

To have a DBS certificate which is valid (and part of the recruitment process) Being on the Ofsted update service

To have a safeguarding guarding certificate which is to be updated every two years on the Lincolnshire safe Guarding board website.

To hold a paediatric first aid certificate appropriate for early years. Updated every three years

To attend training courses to help with your personal development

Take part in supervisions and appraisals which are carried out with the manager/ committee.

Pay: From 13.74 per hour
