37.5 hours per week x 52 weeks per year Full time Shift work, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.



Salary: 25,311 per annum



The Early Years Practitioner is responsible to the Nursery Manager.

The Early Years Practitioner will be a 'key person' for a group of key babies/children, keeping records in accordance with EYFS and Ofsted requirements.

? The Early Years Practitioner will work as part of the nursery team, taking responsibility to ensure that all children, in the nursery receive the highest standard of care and education.

? To assist the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in providing a high standard of care and education that meets the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, Children Act and OFSTED inspections.

? To support the nursery management with all aspects of safeguarding.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? To be able to ensure the safety and security of the nursery premises, users and staff in accordance with health and safety legislation and EYNTH and WFCN policies.

? To be responsible for providing a high standard of care and education, which meets the requirements of the Statutory Framework of the EYFS, Children Act and OFSTED inspections. ? To work as part of a staff team in providing a smooth-running and harmonious atmosphere in the nursery and in accordance with EYNTH and WFCN policies.

? To implement nursery policies and procedures, with regular reviews with the Nursery Manager to ensure they reflect current legislation and practices.

? To ensure that the services provided at the nursery meet the cultural, social an linguistic needs of the nursery users, promoting diversity and inclusive practice throughout all aspects of the nursery.

? To ensure that records are available at all times and regular reports are given to the Nursery Manager; to maintain records as required e.g. attendance records, accident and incident book and children's records

? To arrive on time to prepare the day's activities and set up equipment before the children arrive and to clear up after the children and parents leave.

? To offer a full programme of activities throughout the day and recognising that this will need careful planning, involving other staff and trainees in order to develop the potential of each child.

? To be fully involved in the children's play, nurturing the children's own creative potential through the activities offered.

? To ensure that the nursery equipment is kept in good order.

? To ensure that children are supervised at all times, whether indoors or outdoors.

? To attend regular WFCN staff meetings, and attend EYNTH meetings where appropriate. ? To make time available on a regular basis to discuss the day-to-day running of the nursery with other staff members.

? To be aware of administrative procedures and be in a position to explain these to parents.

? To keep up to date with the latest ideas in the under-fives field through research, courses and publications.

? To be aware of National and Local Policy Developments

? To work with external partner agencies where necessary.

? To work with the Manager to ensure the continued development of the nursery in line with national and local requirements and policy, and be in a position to pass the information on to other staff members.

? To be able to undertake cooking, cleaning, laundry duties and any other duty which is necessary, to ensure the upkeep of the nursery and the children and staff within it.

? To be able to lift children and equipment as necessary.

? To undertake any other appropriate and reasonable activity relevant to the job as required or directed by the Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or Person in charge.

? To encourage parent/carer involvement in the nursery.

? To fulfil his/her duties with the good name of the EYNTH and WFCN in mind. ? To undertake any further training as required.
