Woodlanders Pre-School provides early years care and education for children aged 9months - 5years in Ashburton and the surrounding areas.
We are an independent registered charity (number 1176342), rooted in the community and run by a team of dedicated staff who are passionate about early years education and supporting the needs of local families. Woodlanders has provided high quality care and education for over 25 years.
In addition to pre-school care and education, Woodlanders provides wrap-around care and holiday clubs for our registered children, parent and toddler groups and specialised sessions such as Forest School, French and Yoga.
The role
Monday - Friday, between the hours of 08.00-17.30, term time with hours required during holiday club periods, part time and full time positions available.
To support the Head of Woodlanders and Room Leaders in providing a safe and supportive environment that enables pre-school children to learn and grow in confidence and social awareness. To deliver high quality creative learning opportunities for children.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will be:
Caring, welcoming, playful and friendly, with a genuine love and enjoyment of working with young children.
Support children with their learning and development by thinking on your feet and planning in the moment.
Confident using online nursery software
Passion for early years childhood education
Ability to work in a flexible manner
An excellent communicator who can relate well to both children and adults
A willingness and ability to undertake professional development as appropriate
Knowledgeable regarding Safeguarding, EYFS and OFSTED requirements.
OFSTED recognised Level 2/3 or above qualification in Early Years (Essential)
Paediatric First Aid (Essential)
Experience of working within the Early Years environment (Desirable)
Experience of working with SEND children (Desirable)
Current knowledge of the foundation stage curriculum and relevant legislation and guidance
