The Governors of St Oswalds CE Aided Primary and Nursery School are seeking to appoint an excellent early years practitioner to join our dedicated and friendly nursery team. Our nursery provision and school wraparound is open 7.45am to 6pm during term time and 8am to 5pm during some school holidays. This role mainly involves working with our nursery age pupils with some wrapround care provision for school-age pupils.



The normal working hours for this post will be 7.45am to 4pm during term time and then working hours between 8am and 5pm when the nursery is open during some school holiday periods. This role is whole year with the majority of annual leave entitlement taken during nursery closure periods.



The successful candidate will become part of a committed and successful team who have high expectations and demonstrate a caring attitude towards our childrens academic and pastoral development. Our children need a practitioner who will take an interest in them as individuals and who will ensure that they make excellent progress both socially and academically.



The successful applicant will be an Early Years Practitioner who meets our essential criteria (and desirable) as outlined in the person specification for this post. Please particularly note the requirement for candidates to hold a full and relevant Early Years qualification.

Calculation of term time only plus two weeks pay

Term time only plus two additional weeks pay is calculated on the basis of the following:

Number of teaching weeks - 38 weeks; plus Public (bank) holidays - 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD - 2 weeks; plus Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)

Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example:

Calculation for employees with less than 5 years service:

40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 47 weeks pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

Calculation for employees with more than 5 years service:

40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 48 weeks pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
