We are seeking two dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioners to join our team at First Steps Nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children between the ages of 0-5 years old, supporting their developmental milestones through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in childcare and early childhood education to make a positive impact on children's lives while developing their management and leadership skills.
Duties
Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Supervise children during play, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
Monitor, track and record children's progress, behaviour, and developmental milestones in accordance with regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and guidance & legislation.
Lead by example by sharing practice with the team to promote a collaborative working environment.
Skills
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting.
Qualification that aligns with the SSSC registration requirements (SVQ Level 7 - Social Services (Children & Young People) or equivalent).
Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with children, parents, and colleagues.
Knowledge of early childhood curriculum childcare and childcare practice is essential.
Ability to organise activities efficiently whilst maintaining flexibility to adapt as needed.
Compassionate approach combined with organisational skills to create a safe and enriching environment for young learners.

Pay: From 12.60 per hour
