Job Summary


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our team, for a minimum of 12 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:45 and 15:15, term time only. Flexibility to work at short notice to cover staff absences is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in supporting children's development, ensuring their safety, and promoting their learning through engaging activities.

Responsibilities



Create and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children's physical, emotional, and social development. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and ensure a collaborative approach to each child's learning journey. Manage behaviour by establishing clear expectations and providing guidance to children in a positive manner. Drive initiatives that enhance the pre-school environment, ensuring it is safe, clean, and conducive to learning. Observe and assess children's progress regularly, documenting their achievements and identifying areas for further development. Collaborate with other practitioners to share best practices and contribute to the overall improvement of the pre-school's educational offerings. Engage in ongoing training opportunities to stay updated on early childhood education trends and practices.

Qualifications



A full and relevant qualification in Early Years is essential. Previous experience working with children in a pre-school or similar environment is highly desirable. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children and parents. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm and positive attitude in a busy environment. A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their individual needs is crucial. A valid Enhanced DBS check will be required prior to employment. Any offer of employment is subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references, one of whom must be your current employer, (or if not currently employed, your last employer), or head of education or training establishment.
