Little Crickets Nursery, part of Argyle House School, Sunderland's leading Independent School are excited to be recruiting for the new position of Nursery Manager.

Recently celebrating 140 years in education, Argyle House School is a leading Independent School in Sunderland built on deep-rooted family values that run through our Nursery, Little Crickets Sunderland, and throughout our school.

Little Crickets Sunderland are now fully operational 50 weeks a year and we actively look to recruit someone to lead our nursery provision and deliver the highest quality learning in line with The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and in accordance with ISI and OFSTED.

The aim of the role is to deliver a safe, stimulating and caring child-centred environment catering for the children's educational and developmental needs.

Main Duties and Responsabilities:

oTo contribute to a planned programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in conjunction with other staff;

oTo seek new ideas by online research (Twinkl, Pinterest and resource books) within the classroom under the guidance of the team leader/ class teacher;

oTo observe the children and upload observations onto Tapestry software to keep a proper record of achievement file on key children, for parents/carers;

oTo contribute to the 'in the moment' planning sheets each day;

oWork alongside parents/carers of special needs children to provide full integration in the Setting;

oSupport all staff and engage in a good staff team;

oUphold standards within the Setting by adhering to all policies and procedures;

oBe responsible for the safeguarding of the children by working to Argyle House School's safeguarding Code of Conduct;

oAlways follow Healthy and Safety procedures to keep everyone safe;

oLiaise with and support parents/carers and other family members;

oTo attend out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parents/carers evenings etc;

oTo be flexible within the working practices of Setting. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleaning of equipment etc;

oWork alongside the Nursery Manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the Nursery is fulfilled;

oRecording accidents in the accident book and make parents aware of any accidents;

oLook upon the Setting as a "whole" i.e. where can your help be most utilised.

oBe constantly aware of the needs of children;

oEnsure each child is collected by someone known to Setting;

oTo respect the confidentiality of information received;

oTo develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key worker;

oTo undertake all ISI required training set by the nursery (Prevent Training, Paediatric First Aid, Online Safety and Safeguarding);

oTo read and adhere to all policies and procedures set by the nursery and school.

oThe preparation and completion of activities to suit the child's stage of development;

oTo ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing;

oWashing and changing children as required;

oProviding comfort and warmth to an ill child;

oTo ensure the Setting is of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development;

oTo be aware of the high profile of the Setting and to uphold its standards at all times;

oTo actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring Setting policies and procedures are observed at all times.

oTo be a role model when interacting with the children verbally and practically
