Working Hours & Availability



This is an

all year round

role (not term-time only). Applicants must be available to work shifts

between the hours of 7:30am and 6:00pm

, to accommodate the nursery's opening times. Working patterns are set on a rota basis and discussed in advance.

Job Role and Responsibilities



As an Early Years Practitioner, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for children aged 0-5 years. Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering age-appropriate, creative, and engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Supporting children's physical, emotional, social, and educational development Observing and assessing children's progress and maintaining accurate records Building strong relationships with children, families, and the wider nursery team Promoting a safe, caring, and inclusive environment Contributing to team meetings, training, and continuous professional development Supporting the nursery's values of inclusivity, kindness, and community

About You



We're looking for someone who is:

Qualified to a minimum of Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare/Early Years Education (or working towards) Passionate about working with young children and supporting their development Friendly, nurturing, and approachable A strong team player with good communication and organisational skills Knowledgeable about EYFS principles, safeguarding, and health & safety

Overview


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in nurturing and developing the early learning experiences of children in our care. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering a safe, engaging, and educational environment that promotes the holistic development of young children.

Duties



Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that stimulate children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for children and their families. Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and caregivers. Maintain effective communication with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times. Manage classroom behaviour effectively while promoting positive interactions among children. Collaborate with other educators to develop a cohesive curriculum that meets the needs of all learners. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.

Qualifications



Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is essential. A qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is highly desirable. Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and support staff effectively. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and colleagues. A valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation purposes related to educational outings or activities. A genuine passion for working with young children and an understanding of their developmental needs. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when required.
