Early Years Speech And Language Assistant
Job Description
The post holder will work 3 days a week alongside a highly specialist Speech & Language Therapist in the Pre-school Language Unit (PSLU). The PSLU provides intensive group therapy for children with significant developmental speech and language difficulties, including Developmental Language Disorder. The PSLU is based at the Northern Health Centre and children attend 3 times a week for 10 weeks. In addition to PSLU, for the other 2 days a week the post holder will support the wider team with a range of clinical and administrative tasks, including developing therapy materials and resources, running weekly groups alongside a therapist, sending out letters and reports and contacting parents to book appointments.
The post holder may be asked to carry out observations of some children within their nursery setting and to share this information with the therapist to help inform the childs management plan.
