Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher (Reception) to work in a rural primary school within commuting distance of Morpeth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive, learn, and develop essential skills. The Reception Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support the overall development of each child. Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and adapting teaching strategies as necessary. Collaborate with other staff members to plan events, activities, and outings that enhance the educational experience. Maintain accurate records of children's achievements and progress in accordance with school policies. Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.

Skills

Strong management and leadership abilities to guide young learners effectively. Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential. A solid understanding of early childhood education principles and practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English. Ability to create engaging learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles. A valid driving licence is preferred for travel to the school, however it is commutable by public transport from Morpeth.
