Early Years Trainer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Years Trainer to support and upskill our staff team in delivering high-quality early years provision. The successful candidate will work directly with nursery teams to raise standards of practice, embed the EYFS effectively, and ensure we are fully prepared for Ofsted inspections.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Development & Training

Deliver high-impact training sessions and workshops tailored to EYFS, safeguarding, behaviour management, and child development. Coach and mentor staff in best practice and effective teaching and learning strategies. Identify training needs through observation and staff feedback, and design CPD programmes accordingly.

Ofsted Readiness

Ensure staff understand and can demonstrate key Ofsted expectations, including curriculum intent, implementation, and impact. Conduct mock inspections and audits, providing constructive feedback and action plans. Support the development of evidence portfolios, planning documentation, and reflective practice.

Quality Improvement

Work with leadership to evaluate the quality of teaching and learning, environment, and outcomes for children. Drive improvements using data, observations, and staff performance metrics. Support settings to achieve and maintain Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.

Compliance and Best Practice

Promote adherence to the EYFS Statutory Framework, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation. Keep up to date with changes in early years policy and practice and cascade key updates to staff.
Person Specification

Essential:



Level 3 or above in Early Years Education (Level 5 or above desirable) Proven experience in early years leadership, training, or quality improvement roles Strong knowledge of the EYFS, Ofsted framework, and safeguarding legislation Excellent communication, mentoring, and presentation skills Ability to motivate and inspire staff at all levels

Desirable:



Experience of leading a setting to a Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcome Teaching/training qualification (e.g. PTLLS, AET, or equivalent) Experience working across multiple early years settings
Additional Information

Travel between sites may be required Flexible working hours may be necessary, including occasional evenings or weekends for training delivery Enhanced DBS check required
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 40,000.00-50,000.00 per year
