The role
The school is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic teaching assistant who can provide support for our youngest pupils, the class teacher and the school, to encourage pupils to become independent learners, to ensure their safety and welfare and support the inclusion of pupils in all aspect of school life. This will be a split role across Early Years and Year 1.

can work alongside teachers and other support staff to support and develop the literacy and numeracy skills of pupils
have an ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with the pupils, parents and staff
have experience of working with children with specific needs
are able to work as part of a team
demonstrate strong behaviour management skills in line with school policy
conform to school policies and procedures - safeguarding, welfare, health and safety and data protection
undergo any training required in order to perform relevant duties efficiently
support the teaching of a curriculum that allows pupils to achieve and make progress
be a patient and understanding champion of vulnerable pupils
The post also include pastoral care duties including lunchtime pupil support.

Contract:
Fixed term from 3rd November 2025 (negotiable) to 31st August 2026 (with the possibility of additional hours being available as Nursery numbers increase across the year or of the contract period extending).
Salary:
Grade 4 - 25 hrs per week, term time only
Hours:
Monday - Friday 9:00am - 1:00pm (9:00am - 11:15am supporting teaching and learning in Year 1 and 11:30am - 1:00pm supporting Nursery across the lunchtime period)
