The Role:
We're seeking a skilled
Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer
with a minimum of
5 years' experience
to contribute to both the
design
and
implementation
of engineering solutions. This is a varied role that blends
office-based design and documentation
work with
hands-on support
during installation, commissioning, or site investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and review Electrical design documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and load lists.
Develop and review Control and Instrumentation design documentation including cause and effect diagrams instrument datasheets and control philosophies.
Participate in the selection and specification of instrumentation and control systems.
Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
Work closely with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
Ensure all work meets relevant standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum of
5 years' experience
in EC&I engineering roles.
Strong working knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design principles.
Ability to produce and review detailed technical documentation.
Practical experience supporting the installation and commissioning of EC&I systems.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g. BS7671, IEC, ATEX).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamworking abilities.
A relevant technical qualification such as an HNC in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation engineering or a similar discipline - engineering degree prefered.
Desirable:
Knowledge of
PLC/SCADA
systems or industrial networking.
Previous experience working in the energy sector.
Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD packages.
