We are seeking a controls-biased individual with solid Power Station or similar industry experience.
Role Overview
In this key position, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation, control circuits, and related equipment essential to plant operations. Your work will support the entire facility, ensuring smooth and compliant operations aligned with production schedules and plant requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform skilled electrical and technical work including testing, inspection, and repair of complex mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic instruments within process systems and equipment.
Install, maintain, perform preventive maintenance, repair, calibrate, and adjust mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic instrumentation and analyzers.
Install, repair, and maintain power transmission lines, transformers, electrical motors, instruments, controls, and related equipment.
Maintain, inspect, test, adjust, and repair instrumentation across a wide range of plant equipment such as generators, AC/DC motors, MOVs, turbine controls, DC systems, and auxiliaries.
Maintain detailed, accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities; keep blueprints and OEM manuals well-organized.
Utilize thorough knowledge of instrument applications and electrical/mechanical principles to conduct repairs, testing, and calibration.
Maintain alarms and automatic shutdown systems triggered by process variables. Strong PLC and DCS knowledge is essential for troubleshooting and analyzing logic circuitry as well as pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical circuits.
Qualifications & Experience
Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
IOSH Managing Safely
certification.
HNC/D
qualification in engineering desirable.
Approximately 5+ years' experience as an instrumentation technician with a control bias within
Power Station
or similar plant environments.
Familiarity with
HSE standards
, procedures, and safe control of plant operations.
Advanced skills in repair and calibration of transmitters, analysers, and scales.
Knowledge of
DC
and emergency power systems.
Practical experience and understanding of
PLC and DCS systems.
