Recognizing the immense potential and to further solidify our position, we are now in the process of establishing a dedicated local team in the US. Our organization is currently seeking an experienced and highly-skilled Public Relations (PR) Manager with a strong background in the FMCG/Nicotine industry. This role requires a seasoned professional who has mastered the multi-faceted aspects of PR, including positive image building, crisis management, and fostering strategic relationships with local press and agencies. This role will also serve as a company spokesperson, therefore, the ability to speak publicly and confidently about our organization\'s initiatives, products, and services is paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with HQ\'s Global PR Team to align on projects and goals for our brands in the UK.
  • Monitor and manage crises and issues.
  • Work on cross-cutting affairs with local teams, able to strike a balance among PR standards, compliance bottom lines, and sales growth.
  • Create, localize and support PR strategy in the UK to sustain positive, indepth coverage.
  • Lead and manage PR agency to execute communications plan.
  • Work with different teams to lead and/or assist in press events.
  • Support and fully in charge of creation and localization of in-house content, and sometimes lead local review programs over various products.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the UK-based press.
  • Monitor local media reports and handle media requests on a frequent basis.
  • Expand the local PR and comms team when necessary
Requirements:
  • 5+ years\' experience in PR, specifically within the FMCG/Nicotine industry.
  • Residing in the UK, an English native speaker.
  • Proven experience in the fields of communications (PR, journalism), technology-beat preferred.
  • Proven experience in engaging with media in the UK across different categories and different regions.
  • Some knowledge about, or interested in the business models and products of the vaping industry, and its peer competitors.
  • Must have a clear sense of the industry\'s pain points and its products, and mitigate the challenges by handling issues and generating positive content.
  • Proven experience in managing PR agencies preferred.
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the technology, consumer electronics, and FMCG industries in general.
  • Possess strong media relations with the UK media, especially business and national media. Proven strong connections with global media and tech (vertical) ones a plus.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, not a "corporate person", and naturally gifted at interacting with others.
  • Ability to work across teams, think outside the box and handle tight deadlines
