6 month fixed-term contract (as this is a short contract we are looking for candidates with no notice period ideally or who can start late July/early August at the latest)


Hours:

Full time 35 hours per week (Flexible working requests will be considered)


Location:

Stratford, London Office-based with high flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office)

The Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC) Network is a UK wide network of centres that conduct early phase trials and associated translational research. The Programme Office is housed by CRUK and supports the network in a variety of ways.


The ECMC network is made up of 17 adult centres and 12 paediatric locations across the UK. Each ECMC has unique and world leading expertise within early phase clinical research. Collaboration across the ECMC network gives us the edge in generating new treatments for cancer.


What will you be doing?



The ECMC Paediatric Impact & Engagement Manager will be responsible for effectively collaborating and building relationships with stakeholders across the paediatric community to ensure the strategy for the ECMC Paediatric Network is driven forward to maximise impact to patients. In addition, this role will be working to bring our paediatric and adult networks together and support wider network engagement activities, and act as the team lead for the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) research activities.


Key duties include:



Support ECMC Network management and governance, including responsibility for the development and delivery of the ECMC Paediatric Strategy Group meetings, working with the ECMC Paediatric Research Manager to incorporate key scientific and operational initiatives, and ensuring the strategy for the ECMC Paediatric Network is driven forward. Develop and maintain a clear understanding of paediatric capacity and capability activities across the network. Lead on identifying and developing qualitative and quantitative case studies to evidence the impact of the Paediatric Network. Support the ECMC team to deliver Teenager and Young Adult (TYA) specific recommendations to support access to trials for this population, including leading on patient and public involvement activities within the TYA space. Support the ECMC Impact and Engagement Lead to develop and embed patient and public involvement across ECMC strategic and operational activities including trial design and delivery to ensure their views and experiences are incorporated proportionately and meaningfully throughout the work of the ECMC. Lead on representing the Children and Young People's (CYP) perspective in internal and external strategic conversations and ensuring the CYP patient voice is considered in all Network-wide activities.

What skills are we looking for?



Experience of building relationships with stakeholders internally and externally and acting diplomatically to influence effectively and build consensus. An understanding of using governance processes within initiatives Excellent communication skills and the ability to recognise the needs of the audience. Experience of proactive and self-initiated project delivery, ensuring a solutions-focused approach to challenges facing organisational or team initiatives. Strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop operational plans. Interest in, or experience of involving patients or people affected by cancer in strategic projects. An ability to deal with sensitive information in a professional way.
